I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce you to our highly skilled professional team that makes People First an organisation of choice and integrity.

Steven

Customer Service & Administration Manager

Working in the Aged Care Sector for the last few years has been very inspiring and rewarding.

As the first point of contact for many of our clients I believe a positive approach is essential to achieving a positive outcome.

Danielle

HR & Finance Manager

I have worked across a number of industries throughout my working life, however, nothing has been quite as fulfiling and intriguing as my time at People First Queensland.

Working behind the scenes, albeit you are not often client facing, you are exposed to many aspects of the sector in one way or another. It is challenging, interesting and at times eye opening, but above all rewarding.

Cheryl

Senior Assessor

I have always had a keen interest in working within the social and community services sector. I completed a Bachelor of Social Work in 2015 and have been working as a home support assessor since.

I love working alongside the older generation who have a wealth of knowledge and experience and I find my work rewarding. I respect that people are the expert in their own lives. Every person is unique, and has a right to autonomy and independence.

Sarah - Senior Assessor

With years of experience working with the Aged Care sector, both within the community and supported living, I have found that Aged Care is my passion.

As a RAS assessor, my goal is to assist and empower our ageing community with their individual goals and needs to maintain their independence.

Elina - Assessor

I have been working in community services with a focus in aged care for 7 years, including residential care facilities, community service organisations and a local council. My studies include tertiary qualifications in Community Services and Aged Care.

As an assessor, I get to listen to people's stories, the little things that make them happy, their troubles, desires and needs and make an action plan with them to achieve THEIR goals. Their voice is being heard, respected and supported. I get to remind them that they can still be active members of the community through reablement and that there are so many ways to support their daily living and health, the way they chose to, through informed decision making.

Zlata - Assessor

I have 32 years of experience in Aged Care -  areas of Coordination, Case management and Social Support Group.

I enjoy the role of assessor for the Regional Assessment Service as I feel I am making a positive impact on the community.  Meeting a wide range of people from a variety of diverse backgrounds. Being able to involve the older person in the assessment and care planning.

Leah - Assessor

I have always had an affinity for older people. I love listening to their stories of the past and getting a history lesson along the way.

I previously worked for an aged care service provider for 12 years in a range of roles including new client admissions and client care coordination. My current job as a RAS Assessor is absolutely my favourite role. I enjoy getting to meet such a variety of older people of different cultural backgrounds and rich life experiences. Every day as a RAS assessor is different. I get enormous satisfcation from helping people through their My Aged Care journey so that they can live their best lives in their own homes.

Medina - Assessor

I have worked in the aged care industry for over 12 years within the community and the home care sector. I draw on my first-hand knowledge of the care providers and local networks to engage meaningfully with each individual on a level that enables informed consumer choice, empowers them at every stage of the journey and most importantly, delivers the best outcome with a focus on wellness, re-ablement and independence.

Being part of People First QLD inspires me as I can deliver client focused assessments with the support and encouragement from a team whose values align with my own.

Melinda

Assessor

I completed my studies for Nursing and commenced working in community care after several years as I knew then where my passion was. I have now worked various roles in Aged Care for just over 20 years, including Case Management, Coordination and management and even hands on roles.

I started working as a RAS assessor back in 2016 and have great satisfaction knowing at the end of the day that I have been able to support a client to maintain their independence and wellbeing, listen to their stories, help to understand some of the complex processes and best of all seeing a smile or hearing a laugh. No two days are ever the same, so if I can support in any way, my goals are achieved.

Melisa - Assessor

I arrived in Australia in 2012 after touring the world and I quickly realised that helping others was my true passion. I have extensive experience in Social Services and have achieved several qualifications in the field.

I still have a distinct accent, however I enjoy a good conversation in either English or Spanish, or sometimes even Spanglish.

Outside of work my passions include travel, continual learning and Latin dancing. Within the workplace, my true passion is Case Management, and I find I excel in the position of Assessment Officer for both Australian seniors and seniors with a Spanish background.

Narelle - Assessor

I have worked in the Aged Care industry for over 11 years in a variety of roles.

I am very passionate about working with the older members of the community and I find the ability to aid them in any way, large or small, very rewarding. My main aim is to ensure that I can help them maintain their independence.
